Southall mela 2015 was an absolutely amazing success!

Southall Mela will always bring the very best of entertainment and artistes for its headline attraction.

We pride ourselves in representing a diverse community that spans the globe and are excited to showcase talent that may not have achieved the international accolades our headline artistes have received but are just as important.

In 2015, we were proud to have artistes performing throughout the day who have extraordinary talent and kept the crowd enthralled. See below what you might have missed and visit the Gallery for photos of the event.

Apache Indian

Apache Indian has enjoyed over 20 years of success including; winning various awards from the Asian & Reggae Industries, 7 British top 40 hits, 4 Brit Award nominations, Mercury Music nomination, Ivor Norvello Award & the International Dance Award in 1995.

His big hit single Boomshakalak has been featured in over 75 International TV commercials including an advert for ‘Lynx’ featuring Jennifer Aniston.

It has also been featured in 7 Hollywood Movies including ‘Dumb & Dumber’ and ‘Scooby Doo 2′.

B21

B21’s debut album of the band entitled ‘The Sounds of B21’ that featured on the now legendary classic track, 'Put Sardaran Da' was released in 1996.

Subsequent to this they released their second album titled ‘By Public Demand’ which featured songs such as 'Chandigarh' and 'Din Raat'.

‘Made in England’ was their third album which opened up new boundaries for the band.

Bally Jagpal a band member was also successful in releasing his solo maiden album Live and Direct in 1997 which was followed by Dark & Dangerous in 2000 which featured the Pakistani artist, Shazia Mansoor on the hit track, Aaja Soneya.

Mumzy Stranger

Mumzy Stranger, is a popular singer, songwriter, MC and record producer.

He made his mainstream recording debut in the summer of 2009 with his debut single "One More Dance", which topped the UK Asian Charts, as did the follow-up singles, "Showgirl" and "Fly With Me".

He is the first artist of Bangladeshi descent to have entered the mainstream music industry and still remains to this day one of the latest prospects of British-Asian R&B artists in Britain.

Zack Knight

Zack Knight credits his father as his inspiration behind pursuing a career in music. He believes his sound is best described as “...R&B infused style with a crossover sound”. Knight produces, composes and engineers his own music and has written for Tinie Tempah, Ginuwine, Iyaz, Nicholas McDonald (X Factor) Stylo G and supported Taio Cruz, Mario and Jessie J Live.

S.I.B. & Adil Hashmi

Rapper S.I.B & Singer Adil Hashmi are an urban asian rapper/singer duo from London, UK who combine eastern and western styles of music accross Urdu/Hindi, English and Punjabi lyrics to provide an unforgettable musical experience.

S.I.B & Adil hashmi in the past 2 years toured the UK and promoted their unique music. With their famous tracks Jaana and Deewane & releasing their latest 2015 single Pehla Pyar (No.1) they have established a fanbase worldwide paving their way to success in the world of music.

Omer Nadeem

Omer Nadeem is a singer/song writer/composer/musician. In July 2009, Omer Nadeem released his debut video "Aey Khuda" which was a massive hit and still is one of the favourite number of his fans. Since then he has officially released 5 videos world wide as well as singing for Bollywood sound tracks. In August 2012, Omer Nadeem discovered a new and unique style. His video "Kin Rastoon Pay" is one of the most appreciated and Critically Acclaimed song and video of Omer Nadeem.

Khiza

With fourteen albums to his credit, all produced under one roof, Khiza has collaborated with some of the biggest desi names brining a series of amazing acts to the asian music scene from the likes of Apache Indian, Mehsopuria, Suman, DJ Ams, Shayal to the likes of Alisha Chinoy, Mika Singh, Atif Aslam, Hadiqa Kiyani and Abrar Ul Haq to an international platform.

Soni J

Soni-J is a young British Asian Artist. Born and raised in Birmingham, Soni has been influenced by music from a very young age listening to artists like Nusrat etc he was was also influenced and encouraged by his father who was always passionate about music and wanted to fulfill his dreams through his son. Soni has performed alongside major international acts at Wembley Arena his first hit single "Tu Hai Meri Jaan" was a massive Worldwide success.

Nurjahan

Nurjahan Shilpi has been singing since the age of ten and was taught by Ustad Akter Sadmani, Khalid Hossain and also took tuition from Bulbul Lolito Kola Academy until the age of 16. Nurjahan sings professionally in the UK in Bengali, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi and has a long list of live performances to her name. As one of the most popular Bengali singers in various types of music, she has received many awards including most recently the Genius Award in 2013 as a Young Talented Singer.

Radia Gulzan

Radia is a professional dancer and choreographer. Brought up in Italy and recently moved to London, dance is Radia's dream and gretset love.

Rien Rahman

Rien Rahman is the vocalist & Lead Guitarist from the UK Band ''Manchitro''. Rien is looking forward to rock you all at Southall Mela this June.

Ritu Rahman

Ritu Rahman has been performing since childhood. A professional singer from Hounslow, Ritu represents the Bengali culture & music in the UK and currently performs with her band ''Manchitro'' as well as doing solo. Music Genres Folk, Rock, Lalon Fusion.

Rowshanara

Rowshanara Moni is a versatile artiste singing in Hindi, Urdu and Bangla for the past 15 years. She is well known TV and Radio presenter and currently sings for Melody 4 You! As part of her Philanthropy endevours, Rowshanara recently raised £10,000 for late singer Shah Abdul Karim in 2009.

Sadia A Chowdhury

Sadia, famous for her unique melodious voice and popular for singing Nazrul, Pop, Classical, Ghazal and Folk songs is a student of Ustad Gopal Datta, a renonewed classical teacher from Asia. Sadia is now working with UK Musician, Composer and Singer Abu Emran under their AS PRODUCTION. She is also a Music teacher of Udichi School of Performing Arts of London.

Sandyman

Sandy Man is the ever popular musician of Britain, Bangladesh and Bollywood. He performs and organises orchestra for top singers of the music industry including percussion for Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Shahanaz Sumi

Shahanaz Sumi has been singing for the past 18 years, releasing three solo albums and one mixed album. Originally from Italy, Shahanaz has been in the UK for the past 4 years and was at las years Mela in Southall.

Tareque

Tareque is an outstanding peformer of Bengali Rock, Folk, Pop and Lalon's songs. Music is his passion, not a profession. Therefore, his music comes from his heart.
