Channi Singh OBE is widely known for his vocals with supergroup Alaap, which he formed in 1977. Alaap has performed across the world and Channi Singh has been acknowledged as heralding a new era of Bhangra being crowned its godfather. After a successful solo career which included composing, directing and singing tunes for a stream of Bollywood movies, Channi Singh continues to make music and inspire others. This Southall native will proudly be performing at Southall Mela 2016 and receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.


Laying claim to the title "Princess of Bhangra", Mona Singh has become one of Britain's most sought after young artists in the business and enjoys one of the highest profiles of any Bhangra personality. With 3 hit albums under her belt, Mona continues to captivate audiences on stage and on screen with her unique music videos and sound. Southall Mela is proud to have Mona Singh live on stage performing with her father, Channi Singh.


Zack Knight credits his father as his inspiration behind pursuing a career in music. He believes his sound is best described as an R&B infused style with a crossover sound. Knight produces, composes and engineers his own music and has written for Tinie Tempah, Ginuwine, Iyaz, Nicholas McDonald (X Factor) Stylo G and supported Taio Cruz, Mario and Jessie J Live. Having burned up the UK charts, Zack is all set to perform live at Southall Mela 2016.


Rapper S.I.B & Singer Adil Hashmi are an urban Asian rapper/singer duo from London, UK who combine eastern and western styles of music across Urdu/Hindi, English and Punjabi lyrics to provide an unforgettable musical experience. Their music has reached new heights recently generating a buzz in the Asian music industry and gaining them many fans.


Omer Nadeem is a singer, songwriter, composer and musician. In July 2009, Omer Nadeem released his debut video "Aey Khuda" which was a massive hit and still is a favourite among fans at his live shows. Since then he has officially released 5 videos world wide as well as singing for Bollywood sound tracks. In August 2012, Omer Nadeem discovered a new and unique style. His video "Kin Rastoon Pay" is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed songs of recent times within the Asian and Pakistani community.


With fourteen albums to his credit, all produced under one roof, Khiza has collaborated with some of the biggest desi names in the business, bringing a series of amazing acts to the Asian music scene from the likes of Apache Indian, Mehsopuria, Suman, DJ Ams, Shayal to the likes of Alisha Chinoy, Mika Singh, Atif Aslam, Hadiqa Kiyani and Abrar Ul Haq to an international platform.


Soni-J is a young British Asian Artist. Born and raised in Birmingham, Soni has been influenced by music from a very young age. He was was also influenced and encouraged by his father who was always passionate about music and wanted to fulfil his dreams through his son. Soni has performed alongside major international acts at Wembley Arena and his first hit single "Tu Hai Meri Jaan" was a massive worldwide success.


Sandy Man is the ever popular musician of Britain, Bangladesh and Bollywood. He performs and organises orchestra for top singers of the music industry including percussion for Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Sufia Hossain displayed her dancing skills at an early age, captivating audiences everywhere. Performing at various stage shows, Sufia Hossain has made a name for herself and will be dancing live on stage at Southall Mela in a traditional style.


Saida Tania is an internationally accomplished singer, songwriter and stage performer. She loves music and wants to represent Bangla music internationally, spreading its rich complexity and culture to all.


Maisha Sadaf Mitu is a classical based singer (Nazrul), who has been singing since she was 3 years old. She started singing in Chayanat in 2005 and is a musical talent to be reckoned with. She has performed at numerous live shows and brings her golden voice to Southall Mela.


Roji Sarker inherited her love for singing from her family. After completing a four-year course from Dhaka Bulbul Lolith Kola, she completed a further course from Dhaka Nazrul institute specializing in Nazrul Sangith. Since 2002, she has been working with Bangladesh Betar and BTV as a Nazrul Sangith singer. She also has a musical shool in Birmingham and currently performs on local television channels and at community programmes.


Radia Gulzan is a young 19-year-old dancer and choreographer of Italian and Bengali heritage. Having performed since the age of 12, she has represented Bengali culture in many multicultural events as well as conquered the stage with Indian Pakistani communities.


Bapita Bapi is a singer who is not only talented but also takes the art of music seriously. With a Masters in Music and an ear for the right sound, Bapita is in her element on stage and will be performing live a Southall Mela 2016.


Nurjahan Shilpi has been singing since the age of ten. She was chosen by Ustad Akter Sadmani as a pupil of classical music and by Khalid Hossain for the style of Nazrul Giti. She has sung professionally in Bengali, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi languages and is a popular singer with many communities.

BBC Asian Network presenter Nadia Ali is one of the most inspiring and talented forces in Asian media today, sparking a unique connection with the traditional generation while keeping her finger on the pulse of today’s youth. At the age of 19 she joined Channel S, a free-to-air channel targeting British Bangladeshis, and worked there for eight years. Since 2012, she has been hosting her own show on the BBC Asian Network proving popular with fans worldwide who are proud of her achievements and inspire a huge following.


Syeda Choudhury is a talented British-Bangladeshi TV and Radio presenter who presents weekly programmes on Bangla TV and Beter Bangla. Through Beter Bangla, she has also presented programmes on BBC Asian Network. Syeda also presents live stage shows for community events and cultural performances.


London born, Kan-D-Man kick-started his music career when he released 'The Undergraduate', a solo mix CD in 2005. The album was played on BBC Asian Network, Radio and 1Xtra and secured Kan-D-Man's music credentials. He is a member of the organisation 'Chronicle Entertainment' consisting of London's Asian Youth MCs, which has helped Asian street music to develop.


East Londoner, DJ Limelight is is a founding member of the collective 'Chronicle Entertainment' consisting of London's Asian Youth MCs, including Kan-D-Man, Raver and Spitfya. He has hosted, mixed and presented as series of compilation CDs, working with MC Ghetto, Triggs Vega and Dawn Penn. Limelight loves showcasing the new wave of young UK talent on Mic Check.
